John Louis Bolch Joins Academic Advising Team

March 9, 2009

by Rob Williams

Live. Dream. Smile. This is what John Louis Bolch wants to instill in students while they are achieving their academic goals at Texas A&M University.

Bolch joined the Department's Academic Advising Team on March 2 and will be advising undergraduates in both the Entomology and Forensic and Investigative Sciences degree programs.  In addition, Bolch will be working on new student recruiting and outreach programs.

A native of Bryan, Bolch decided on Texas A&M because he wanted to be closer his family.  Before Bolch joined the Department, he was an academic advisor in General Studies for the Department of Academic Programs.

He is very excited about meeting with the students on a one-on-one basis and hopes to help them reach their academic and future career goals.

Bolch wants students not only to achieve their academic goals but to develop a sense of pride for their accomplishments and and to develop school spirit at Texas A&M.

"Every student is an individual and comes from a unique background.  The student has their own list of goals and opportunities for careers and classes," he said. "I would like to see that each goal is met."

Bolch hopes to have a greater connection to former students by starting a former student outreach program in the near future.

"This is a very exciting time and there are going to be a lot of good changes," he said.
